[Date: March 6, 2025]
Frifti, a new online marketplace championing fair deals from beloved UK brands, has officially launched, with those behind it citing inspiration from a compelling call on LBC Radio just five days ago, highlighting the need for alternatives to Big Tech's dominance.
27-year-old entrepreneur Max Beech and 17-year-old intern Richard Dvorsky built Frifti in just three days, handily beating their goal of matching the LBC caller's belief that an Amazon competitor could be launched within a week.
Answering the Call for Fair, Trustworthy Commerce
The spark for Frifti was ignited by a listener call to LBC, during a show hosted by Matthew Wright. The caller, identified as John, passionately articulated the need for Europe to develop its own independent digital and commercial infrastructure to counter the influence of Big Tech – a message that resonated deeply with Max and Richard.
"We were listening to LBC and John's call truly hit home," says Max. "He spoke about the need for the rest of the world to develop fair alternatives to Big Tech, reducing the undue influence of the US. We realised we weren't alone in feeling this, and we wanted to be part of the solution. Frifti is our response to that call for a fairer system."
A Fresh Perspective with a Bold Mission
Frifti’s innovative approach is built around four core pledges:
- Fair for Consumers: Guaranteeing the best prices available and ensuring transparent commission practices.
- Fair for Brands: Enabling direct brand-consumer connections, with every product page featuring links to both Frifti and the brand’s official store.
- Fair for the Community: Prioritising local sourcing and tax practices that give back to the communities where we operate.
- Fair for the Planet: Demonstrating commitment to sustainability by pledging 10% of profits to support and rebuild Ukraine, while working diligently toward achieving carbon neutrality.
Richard, a driven 17-year-old intern, adds, “The vision for Frifti is more than just creating another online marketplace—it’s about building a sustainable ecosystem that benefits everyone involved.”
A Movement for Change
Frifti emerges at a time when consumers are increasingly dissatisfied with the status quo. In an era of overwhelming choice dominated by impersonal algorithms and mass-produced goods, Frifti offers a refreshing alternative that values community, quality, and sustainable consumption. By championing fair practices and local enterprise, Frifti is not only disrupting e-commerce but also contributing to a broader movement for digital and commercial independence.
